– National Award Ceremony honours outstanding performance
̶ Education Ministry continues to create opportunities for every child
The Ministry of Education (MoE) held its 23rd National Awards Ceremony, for outstanding performances at the primary, secondary and vocational level. The ceremony was held today at the National Cultural Centre (NCC) and saw more than 50 learners from both primary and secondary schools along with students from the Carnegie School of Home Economics and the Technical Institutes across the country receiving prizes and awards for outstanding performances.
A healthy lifestyle is one of the main factors in reducing the risk of cancer. The Carnegie School of Home Economics (CSHE) on Tuesday, hosted a presentation where they displayed several healthy options including beverages reputed to have cancer-fighting ingredients. Among these were Soursop Leaf tea and Tumeric and Ginger tea.
The members of the STEM Guyana team that represented the country at the recently concluded First Global Challenge held in Dubai were further recognized today at a ceremony held at the Baridi Benab, State House.

Nicolette Henry was today paid a courtesy call from Dr Toney May, Commonwealth of Learning Specialist accompanied by General-Secretary of the UNESCO Secretariat in Guyana, Ms. Patrice LaFleur. One of the features of the celebration of Diwali is the intricate Rangoli designs that adorn homes and mandirs. The Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha held the Georgetown leg of its countrywide national inter-school Rangoli competition on Thursday last. The competition saw the participation of fifteen (15) schools around Georgetown.
