Ansa Mcal recognizes outstanding NGSA performers

Ansa McaL Trading as part of it’s cooperate social responsibilities today recognized the performances of seventeen children who sat the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA).

This initiative is an annual exercise by the company and serves as an incentive for children to perform. news 20190711 6
The company has set aside some $1.5M for this exercise with each child receiving a haversack and $10,000 to assist with purchasing of school supplies for the new school term. In addition Ansa McaL announced that the top performers from the other regions will also be recognized.
In her address to the gathering Minister of Education Dr the Hon. Nicolette Henry said that hard work and success deserve recognition and encouraged the recipients of Ansa McaL benevolence to continue to work hard.The Minister cautioned the children against complacency and reminded them that this is just the beginning of a journey that can become arduous at times, but hard work brings about success.Additionally, the children were encouraged to create their own pathways even as they prepare to begin secondary school come September. news 20190711 11Minister Henry said that Ansa McaL should be congratulated for the initiative and that other companies should think along this line.

The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Dr Marcel Hutson in his address encouraged the recipients to continue to work in pursuit of their educational goals. Using himself as an example, the CEO said that it matters not where you began but the ending is what is important.
It was on April 17 and 18 that 14,300 children wrote the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA). Dave Chowtie of Graham’s Hall Primary and Venisha Lall of C V Nunes primary were jointly awarded the top position in the country with 532 marks.
