Denise (only name given) said that she was thrilled with the variety of costumes and floats that were on display. She also highlighted the positive energy of the young revellers that made the entire parade much more enjoyable

Many of the spectators described this year’s costumes and floats as “top-notch” and commended the ministry for taking the decision to provide sub-themes for the various school categories. This, they said, allowed for more creativity.

Also, in attendance at the event was Chief Education Officer Marcel Hutson, who had this to say about the day’s proceedingsnews 20190218 16

“I believe this year’s event to be considered one of the most successful, in the sense that we see the participation of lots of nursery, primary and secondary schools. As you could see also the quality of the costumes is very symbolic of the initiative and innovation of our teachers and other stakeholders. We have had good support from our corporate sponsors and so I believe this year it’s electric and we have seen, I would consider one of the biggest brightest and best children’s parades we have seen in some time.”news 20190218 15

Huston said that this event is definitely a positive for the ministry and a testimony for the government, as it aims to create well-rounded individuals noting that such events help bring those dreams much closer to reality.

The CEO, after viewing the parade, opined that all the participants were winners in his eye.

Forty-seven schools from across the country took centre stage at the National Park to show the judges what they have been working on and perfecting since the year began.
