…Education Ministry sets up Migrant Support Unit to assist more children
The Ministry of Education is hosting a capacity-building forum for drivers within the Ministry at the National Centre for Educational Resource Development (NCERD). The Ministry recognizes that all personnel inclusive of drivers are equipped with the relevant knowledge and skills that will enable them to execute their respective duties effectively and efficiently.
A project management team has been deployed to the Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) to specifically assist the College with its expansion of teacher training services to Guyanese. That team met today at the CPCE with the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand to discuss the way forward.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand met with British High Commissioner to Guyana, Jane Miller, Her Majesty’s Deputy Trade Commissioner (HMDTC) for Latin America and the Caribbean Department for International Trade (DIT), Mr. Spencer Mahoney, the Caribbean Regional Director (DIT), Ms. Laura Ferguson and Country Director for Trade and Investment (DIT), Mr. Sherwyn Naughton.
The Ministry of Education today received over 1000 pieces of furniture from Food for the Poor (Guyana) Inc. (FFTP) to be distributed to schools across Guyana to benefit students and teachers.
