Many may be unaware of the existence of the National School of Music. However, the institute continues to serve Guyana in an upbeat way.

When I recently stepped into the National School of Music, I knew it would have been a memorable experience.
The National School of Music was established in 2011, and managed by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport. It was projected to be a base of music development and an important component of the nation’s overall traditions.

There are exactly 41 Education Welfare Officers, providing information, advice, guidance and support to the nearly 190,000 children in the 970 public schools across the country.

The Ministry of Education, earlier today, issued a statement warning parents and guardians that they have a duty to ensure their children attend school regularly saying failure to do so could result in criminal charges being filed against them.

...Parents could face criminal charges or fined for child’s unexcused absences.

The Ministry of Education wishes to remind parents and guardians of the importance of ensuring that children attend school regularly and that it is their duty to help their children receive the best possible opportunity for an education.
