On Wednesday the Ministry of Education through the Guyana Skill Development Project wrapped up the first Internal Verifiers Training programme for Assessments within the Formal Education Sector.

The programme began on Monday at the Regency Suites Hotel on Hadfield Street. It was facilitated by Assistant TVET Officer, Mr Mark Roberts and Mr David Glasgow, TVET Officer within the Assessment and Certification Unit at the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET).
This training is one in a series that will ensure quality, validity, and reliability in the assessment process by providing schools with a cohort of educators who are not only trained in the modes of competency-based education delivery and assessments but also the quality assessment and management of the delivery and assessment process.
Over the last three days, twenty-five Internal Verifiers were trained and will be certified after they submit a portfolio to the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
The course covered a variety of areas including:
•Assuring quality in the CBET Assessment System
•Assessment Strategies
•Methods of Assessments
•Quality Assurance
•Internal Verification
•External Verification
During the sessions, the educators were engaged in panel discussions and presentations by the Assessment and Certification Officers.
