The Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand participated in the observance of the 57th anniversary celebration of Indian Technical Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) day.

Through the ITEC programme, the Government of India provides training opportunities to Guyanese in a variety of areas.
Minister Manickchand said that there can be no better expression of friendship between countries and no better advancement of humanity than to partner to educate and train people.
The Education Minister said that she looks forward to seeing Guyanese continue to benefit from the partnership between the two Governments in the years to come.
Minister Manickchand was accompanied by her cabinet colleagues, the Minister of Public Service, Sonia Parag and Minister within the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance Dr. Ashni Singh who also delivered remarks.
Reflective remarks were also delivered by some of the ITEC Alumni including Mrs. Mignon Bowen-Phillips, wife of the Prime Minister of Guyana, Brigadier (Ret'd) Mark Phillips.
