The United Kingdom has collaborated with the Government of Guyana to conduct a Children’s Art Competition on Climate Change under the Theme: “The Environment and the impact of Climate Change”.

The initiative is as a result of the Conference of the Parties (COP 26) which has twenty-six signatories of the United Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). There is need to therefore tackle climate change as well as to build back better and greener communities.

The Objectives of Children’s Art Competition is being conducted to:

  • Promote the work of COP 26.
  • Establish collaborations between the people United Kingdom and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana on Environmental Issues.
  • Foster an awareness in learners, for the protection of our planet.

The Committee proposes that the COP 26 Child Art Competition will be conducted within all Education Districts of Guyana. Participation in the competition will testify to learner’s commitment to climate change.
