Admission to Grade 12 (Lower Sixth Form) Secondary Schools in the 2021 – 2022 Academic Year

Applications are invited from students who wish to enter one of the undermentioned schools in 2021-2022 Academic Year to pursue studies at the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination Level.

The following conditions are relevant:

  1. Applicants must be under 18 years of age on January 1, 2022.
  2. Applicants must have obtained Grade Three (3) or better in at least five (5) subjects at one sitting or Grade Three or better in at least six (6) subjects at two sittings of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examinations (CSEC).
  3. All applicants must have obtained at least a Grade Three (3) in English A and Mathematics.

Special Conditions

  1. Applicants who wish to study Electrical and Electronic Technology must have obtained at least a Grade 3 in Electrical/ Electronic Technology at the Technical Proficiency Level and at least a Grade 3 in Mathematics and Physics at the General Proficiency Level.
  2. Applicants who wish to study Law must have obtained at least a Grade 3 in Caribbean History.
  3. Applicants who wish to study any of the following subjects: Agricultural Science, Entrepreneurship, Physical Education & Sport, Tourism and Performing Arts at CAPE as a single subject do not need a pass at CSEC. Technical qualifications from a recognized institution in the selected subject area of study will be accepted for admission.

Birth Certificate and a recently taken passport-sized photograph must be submitted along with the Application Form (Click here to download). On receipt of CSEC results, the result slip must be submitted for verification.

Applicants must submit a character reference from the last school he/she attended if the CAPE subjects are to be pursued at another school. This must be submitted when verifying results. Submissions must be made on or before Friday November 5, 2021. Late submission will not be accepted. Application form can either be downloaded or uplift from any of the CAPE schools or Departments of Education.

Applicants will be considered for admission on a competitive basis. Only those applicants who fulfill the requirements set out above and whose grades indicate that they have the necessary capacity for an Advanced Level Course in those subjects will be selected.

Completed Forms must be submitted to the school where applicants wish to pursue their CAPE studies.
