    The Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) is working with the Ministry of Education and other agencies to tackle the issue of illegal drugs making their way into schools.

    Head of CANU James Singh told reporters on Thursday that ranks have identified several new types of drugs that are now prevalent in society and efforts are being made to get them off the streets.

    In observance of Guyana’s 51st Republic Anniversary Celebrations, the Ministry of Education be conducting the Child Art and Essay Competitions under the theme: “Celebrating Our Veracity in Diversity: Mash 2021 Redefined in Style”. This Theme posits that 2020 was a difficult year for many and has caused us all to make significant adjustments to our lives due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. It is against this backdrop that we use this opportunity to redefine Mash, 2021 in style. Style, because it provides our learners with a “stage” to be creative and innovative in their efforts to celebrate and showcase the authenticity in in diversities as a Guyanese people.
