    President David Granger, for the third time in two years, has announced several adjustments to his Cabinet with Minister of Education, Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine now assuming responsibility for the Public Service under the auspices of the Ministry of the Presidency while Minister within the Ministry of Education, Ms. Nicolette Henry, will take up the role of the Minister of Education. Further, a Department which will oversee the innovation and reform of the Education sector, will be established within the Ministry of the Presidency under the purview of the President.

    The deadline for the report on the Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the state of the education system has been extended by a month.news 20170424 4

    During an interview with the Government Information Agency (GINA), Technical Advisor, Tertiary Education to the Minister of Education, Vincent Alexander had stated that the report of the COI will be completed by the end of the month.
