  • $89 million Martyrs’ Ville Nursery School officially commissioned

    -       Another promise delivered

     (September 10, 2022) – A promise was made to the residents of the Martyr’s Ville Community on the East Coast of Demerara that a nursery school will be built in the community to relieve parents of the burden of taking their children to the Mon Repos Nursery School and the Good Hope Nursery School which are located further away.

  • 1,168 secondary school girls receive sanitary napkins in Region Seven

    ─ as First Lady launches “Menstrual Hygiene Programme”

  • 1,700 teachers start online training, over 5000 registered

    The Ministry of Education says over 5,000 public and private school teachers have registered and 1,700 are currently engaged in its training to deliver online learning.

  • 11 students win US$1,000 each in Guyana-China youth competition

    One student each from every educational district in Guyana was awarded US$1,000 (GY$200,000) along with a trophy on Friday at the Guyana-China Friendship Youth Leadership Development Awards.

  • 12 teachers complete Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education

    SOME 12 teachers from schools across the coast comprise the first batch of persons who have completed their Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education offered by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) through the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL).

  • 1450 students graduated G.R.O.W programme

    (April 25, 2023) – On Tuesday, 1,450 students graduated from the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 6 offered under the Get Ready for Opportunity to Work (G.R.O.W) programme through the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL).

    The Education Ministry has announced that more than 5000 public and private school teachers have registered and 1700 are currently engaged in its training to deliver online learning.

  • 200 learners with disabilities to benefit from new aquatic therapy pool

    200 learners with disabilities from rehabilitation centres across Guyana are set to benefit from a new aquatic therapy pool being constructed at the Regional Special Education Needs and Disability Diagnostic and Treatment Centre.

  • 22,000 Region Six students expected to benefit as distribution of school vouchers begins

    The Ministry of Education yesterday began the distribution of vouchers for school uniforms and supplies in Region Six, where 22,000 students are expected to benefit at a cost of about $90 million.

  • 25 smart classrooms on the cards for 2023

    SOME 25 smart classrooms are expected to be enhanced or established, this year, at secondary schools across Guyana, to add to the over 10 schools in Guyana that have already been equipped with smart classrooms over the last two years.

  • 3,300 more public school entrants to benefit

  • 456 CSEC grades changed after reviewed

    Over 450 of the subject review requested by Guyana, for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) saw new grades being issued to the students by the examining body, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

  • 466 Leguan students benefit from ‘Because We Care’

    Parents of 466 students in Leguan, Region Three are now in a better position to prepare their children for the new school term.

    On Saturday, they benefited from Government’s ‘Because We Care’ and the school uniform and supplies cash grants, which saw parents receiving $19,000 for each public-school child.

  • 501 trained teachers graduate from the CPCE

    —86th graduation ceremony held virtually

  • 54,348 certificates issued, as curtain closes on Coursera

    On March 31, 2021, the curtain closed on an incredibly beneficial arrangement which saw thousands of Guyanese benefitting from free online courses available on Coursera.

  • 55 Graduate from the Carnegie School of Home Economics

    (March 29, 2023) – The Carnegie School of Home Economics today held its graduation exercise for the class of 2022 at the Marriott Hotel, Georgetown where 55 Guyanese graduated in five disciplines.

  • 56 more teachers complete Post Graduate Programmes with GOAL

    (March 27, 2023) – Guyana’s education system is set to be boosted with more trained teachers in several areas.
