  • Department of Education - Georgetown kicks off Regional Science Fair

    (March 1, 2023) – Like several other activities which were put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education’s Regional Science Fair is back.

  • Department of Education – Georgetown distributes care packages to students participating in the Community Chalkboard Project

    On Friday, the Department of Education – Georgetown in collaboration with Central Ministry distributed care packages to students in the Albouystown, Sophia, Back Circle, Rasville and Wortmanville communities. The initiative targeted those students that have been consistently utilizing the chalkboards erected in their communities by the Department of Education on which school work is placed for the various grades to remain engaged while schools are closed for face to face teaching.

    More than 160,000 school children across the country will now receive a $4000 uniform and school supplies voucher to assist with the purchasing of school supplies and uniforms.

    MINISTER of Education, Priya Manickchand, said that the distribution of the $25,000 “Because We Care” cash grant and $5,000 uniform voucher will begin across the country on August 2.
