    In its continued quest to embrace the evolution of Information Technology, the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) yesterday announced that it has successfully hosted its inaugural bout of electronic testing (e-testing).news 20170124

    At a press conference held at CXC’s Barbados headquarters, and streamed live via social media, it was revealed that some 500 candidates from seven territories were able to participate in the e-testing format of the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations.

    (August 8, 2022) – The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®), the Ministry of Education and the Council for Technical Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) today hosted a pre-stakeholder meeting to begin the assessment of 34 secondary schools in Guyana to offer the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ).

  • CXC – Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examination May/June 2018 Report On Preliminary Results

    A total of 12,269 candidates were registered for 2018 CSEC, compared to 12,684 registered for 2017. Subject entries for 2018 were 69,194. An analysis of the 2018 results revealed that the overall pass rate at the General and Technical proficiencies for Grades One to Three was 69.1%. The overall pass rate has improved from 2017 where a pass rate of 63.68% was attained.

    A juvenile detained at the Juvenile Holding Centre has defied the odds and secured six passes at the 2020 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) Examination. This was disclosed by Juvenile Corrections Teacher, Mr. Robert Bourne.

But Minister of Education, Nicolette Henry, is advocating for local top performers to give keen attention to serving Guyana.

    Today, the Ministry of Education announced the names of the top performers at the 2021 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE®) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC®) examination. We extend congratulations to all of the candidates that wrote both examinations and we wish them continued success on their journey.

    The Ministry of Education continues to meet stakeholders on plans for the reopening of schools for CSEC and CAPE students. Over the past two days more than 900 teachers and officials from Regions One, Two, Four, Five, Six, Eight, Nine and Ten were engaged by way of a Zoom meeting on key decisions regarding reopening of schools, the Ministry reported.
