  • Blind Society candidates record notable passes at 2018 CSEC

    Although they were accepted by the Guyana Society for the Blind with little to no academic backgrounds, the blind and visually impaired candidates who participated in the 2018 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate [CSEC] examination were able to secure a 100 percent pass rate.

However, the school has defied the odds. Brickdam has recorded a 92 percent pass rate at this year’s Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination.

  • CAPE – CSEC and NGSA 2021 Examinations

    CAPE – CSEC 2021

    The Caribbean Examination Council’s (CXC) Caribbean Secondary Education Certification (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) were written during the period of June -July of this year. The examinations were written later this year due to the effects, consequences, and impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the Caribbean and the world.

  • Care packages for students, teachers as schools set to reopen

    The Ministry of Education will be providing all teachers, students and cleaners returning to school with care packages containing masks, hand sanitizers, face shields and other items to ensure they remain safe before, during and after sessions.

  • Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examination (CSEC) MAY / JUNE 2015

    The May/June 2015 sitting of the CSEC examination is scheduled to be held from 05th May 2015 to 12th June 2015.

    Registration forms for the examination are obtainable at the Examinations Division, Queen’s College Compound and at the Regional Education Offices in Region 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10.

    The closing date for the return of registration forms to the Examinations Division, Queen’s College Compound is Friday 21st November 2014.

    Entries submitted after that date will NOT be accepted.

    Note: From May/June 2015, the Alternative Paper (3/2) for Biology, Chemistry and Physics is a practical examination and will incur a practical fee.

    The May/June 2014 sitting of the C.S.E.C examination is scheduled to be held from 06th May 2014 to 13th June 2014.

    Registration forms for the examination are obtainable at the Examinations Division, Queen’s College Compound and at the Regional Education Offices in Region 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10.

  • Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate Examination May/June 2021 report on preliminary results

    A total of 9,808 candidates were registered for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) 2021 examinations as compared to 12,009 registered for 2020. Subject entries for 2021 were 61,437. An analysis of the 2021 preliminary results revealed that the overall pass rate at the General and Technical proficiencies for Grades One to Three was 66.36%.
    Improved performance was evident in four (04) subjects and remained constant in six (06) subjects. Outstanding performances were noted in eight (08) subjects where 90% and over gained acceptable Grades (Gr 1 – 3). Some subjects with outstanding performances were Agricultural Science (Double Award) with 93.14%, Information Technology with 92.59 %, Physical Education & Sports with 99.28% and Theatre Arts with 100 %.
