  • 34th COHSOD opens in Georgetown – to focus on Human Resource Development 2030 Strategy, agreement on Regional Action Plan to be forged

    news 20180502The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Social Protection’s Department of Labour are working collaboratively to develop policies and programmes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and quality in the health and education sectors.

    Minister of Education, Nicolette Henry made this disclosure as she addressed the opening of the 34th Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) hosted today at the Theatre Guild under the theme: Positioning Human Resource Development as Central to Caribbean Resilience and Development.

    Education ministers from the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are currently in Guyana for the 37th meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD).news 20170331 5

    The one-day conference will see the education officials finalising a strategy to transform education and human resource development in the region, before presenting the document to the Heads of Government of CARICOM in July, for deliberation and approval.

The meeting will focus on the Human Resource Development Strategy 2030 and is being held under the theme “Positioning Human Resource Development (HRD) as Central to Caribbean Resilience and Development”.
