    (July 7, 2022) – Some 88 students of Christ Church Secondary School on Thursday afternoon were able to walk the stage after two years of being unable to host a graduation ceremony.

     Following the recent visit to the Whitewater Primary School, Region One, by a team of 13 Senior Education Ministry officials led by the Chief Education Officer, Mr. Marcel Hutson, the school is now equipped with a steady supply of electricity and the school’s library now has more than 150 new, relevant textbooks and workbooks.

    The Ministry of Education is on a mission to ensure that public schools across the country adopt safety measures. In order to achieve this goal, the Ministry is currently looking to recruit a consultant who will help to draft policies in this regard.

  • Contingency plan taking effect in Linden

    The Ministry of Education’s contingency plan was activated in the town of Linden, as scores of Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) trainee teachers, and some retired teachers were placed at various primary schools to fill the void left by absent teachers.

    The Ministry of Education today reported a 69.1 percent pass rate at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), up from 63.68 percent in 2017.
