As the distribution of the Because We Care cash grant continued today in Region Five, Mahaica – Berbice, parents at the different distribution centres shared how the grant will be helpful in providing for their children.

Minister of Public Works Bishop Juan Edghill MP says the move to inject over $220 million into Region Ten through the ‘Because We Care’ and Uniform and School supplies cash grants is not a “fly-by-night strategy,” but shows the Administration’s sincerity towards the academic growth of Guyana’s children.
Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn MP says while the ‘Because We Care’ cash grant initiative may seem modest, it is critically important to some families and he expects parents to invest the sum in their children.
Parents and guardians of students of St. Stanislaus College, Central High, Houston Secondary and Ketley Primary schools have said the ‘Because We Care’ cash grant would boost their household incomes, as they prepare their children for the September school term.
