The Co-operative Republic of Guyana has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA), and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to the hiring of a Social Development Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring that Project activities are meeting the social requirements, especially as spelt out in the Indigenous Peoples Plan (IPP), posing low social risks, and complying with the World Bank’s safeguards policies.
The Ministry of Education, Guyana Education Sector Improvement Project (GESIP) now invites suitably qualified persons to fill this vacancy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as sociology, social works, anthropology, social development, or a related social science;
- At least five years of experience in Social Development and Social Protection;
- Knowledge in and familiarity with handling social aspects of projects, including social assessments, community consultations and indigenous communities;
- Fluency in English and good communication, report writing and presentation skills.
