  1. The Cooperative Republic of Guyana (Ministry of Education) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Guyana Education Sector Improvement Project (GESIP), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for The Construction of the Faculty of Health Sciences Building, Turkeyen Campus, University of Guyana.
  2. The Ministry of Education now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Construction of the Faculty of Health Sciences Building, Turkeyen Campus, University of Guyana, Turkeyen Campus.
  3. Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers- Procurement in Investment Projects Financing” [July 2019 edition as per legal agreement] (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.

    and inspect the Bidding document during office hours 0900 to 1600 hours at address given above.

  5. A complete set of the electronic bidding documents, in English, may be obtained by prospective bidders via email upon the submission of a written Application to the address (1) below from Monday, May 31, 2021. Bidders are required to indicate an e-mail address in their application, where the bidding package and any changes to the bidding document can be sent, and received by bidders.
  6. A pre-bid meeting shall take place on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 10:00hrs at the Ministry of Education, Project Execution Unit Conference Room located at 109 Barima Avenue, Bel Air Park, Georgetown.
  7. Bids must be delivered to address 2 below on or before July 27, 2021. Electronic submission of bids will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address 2 below on July 27, 2021 at 09:00hrs.
  8. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Securing Declaration.
  9. “Attention is drawn to the Procurement Regulations requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.”
