Dr. Marcel Raymond Hutson

Dr. Hutson's passion for education is rooted in his love for children, his desire to see them fulfill their potential. Hence his mission which is to facilitate quality teaching in the classroom through continuous Professional Development of teachers and effective monitoring and supervision that will produce literate and numerate pupils that will foster smooth transitions from Primary to Secondary education.
It is against this background he has embarked on a career in education in 1985 at the Cyril Potter College of Education.
Qualification:
Dr. Hutson has a Trained Class 1 Grade 1 Teacher’s Certificate, Bachelor Social Science Degree in Sociology, Bachelor Arts Degree Theology, Post Graduate Diploma in Education Administration and Master in Education management Planning and Supervision.
Additionally, he holds a certificate in the Management and Delivery of Education in Guyana via the Ministry of Education first Teacher Cadet Scheme, a Certificate in Reforming School Supervision for Quality Improvement (iiep) through UNESCO and a Certificate of Training in Project Management through the Government of Guyana and Caribbean Development Bank.
Most Memorable Experience:
Supervision of schools in the Pomeroon River particularly Akawini approximately 100 miles up the creek passing caimans, manatees and electric eels in the process.
